I have been thinking a lot about one of the most powerful numbers that are amazing to have in the football pitch. If you see anyone putting on this Jersey number knows that they are what I call a game changer or a catalyst, only those who have changed the game of football.
Over the years number 10 has been given to amazing footballers who have changed and inspired people all over. We talk of legends like Pele, The great Ronaldo from Brazil, Ronaldinho, Zinedine zidane, Lionel Messi, Frank Lampard, and many others. I look at this number 10 and the game changer, I asked myself.
“What are the game changers in my own life?”
After days of pondering on this, I came up with four game changers. I have been using these Game Changers and they have been changing my life.
1) My thoughts
2) My words
3) My vision
4) My faith
-On a day to day basis, what is your thought process like? What thoughts are taking your energy and attention? For anyone to be something it has to start in your mind. Your mind is the greatest mankind to humanity. Use your mind wisely and you will prosper. Joyce Meyer wrote a book called “battlefield of the mind” she says that everything starts in the mind. Someone once said “everything is created twice in your mind and the physical creation. What is your thought process like? Because you become what you spend most of your time thinking. This is about you and about your life. Your mind has the power to create anything and can frame the world that you want.
The thoughts and actions we do habitually through time determine our destiny. If I think negative thoughts and if I am filled with judgments towards myself and others, my actions will follow my thoughts and I will get what I focus on.
Set a guard over my mouth, LORD keep watch over the door of my lips. (Psalm 141:3).this verse made me think twice. There is nothing that is so dangerous than words. A sword will make you bleed, a gun will cut through the flash and you will recover but words spoken will scar you for life. Your words can either build your life or destroy it. Lou Tice wrote a book called “Self-Talk”. In this book, he talks of how your words that you speak to yourself have power over your life. When you wake up in the morning what are you saying to yourself? When you are about to go to bed what are you saying to yourself? The words that you speak either to yourself or to others are like a seed that you put into the ground one day it shall grow and you will harvest the fruits.
A Chinese proverb says
“Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words. Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions. Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits. Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character. Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.”
What we think often comes out of our mouth and into someone else’s ears. Our words impact how we feel about ourselves and they can impact how others think and feel. Words are symbols that communicate what’s going on inside our heads to us and others. We share our fears, our sorrow, our joy, our love and our dreams with our words.
Our words create action. Our words can create intimacy or separation. With our words, we can motivate ourselves to do things we never thought we could do, and our words can also move others to step forward into their own personal power so they can be of service to their community. Words can calm us or excite us. Words can actually change the direction of a nation. So watch what you think and be aware of the words that come from your thoughts, and the actions that follow your words.
Habakkuk 2vs2 says “without the vision the people perish”. Where are you going with your life? How far do you want to go? Vision will help you map up your life. Time and again you should cast your vision (see where you want to go and who you want to be) because as far as the eye can see so shall you be. See what you want and want what you see.
As much as we are human beings we are also spiritual. What do you believe in as an individual, family, community, and nation? What are you teaching your children to believe in? Some believe in dolls, some in animals, money, ancestors but I do believe in GOD. Sometimes, when things don’t go according to plan, we lose faith, not only in ourselves but also in any potential outcome in our lives. Failure will do that to you. When we experience life’s monumental failures, it’s easy to lose hope and even faith. Faith, at its core, is deep-rooted in the expectation of good things to come. It goes beyond hope. While much of hope lives in the mind, faith is steeped in the heart and the spirit. It can’t be explained away by reason or logic, or be understood through a single dimension. While life can be hard at the best of times, faith is the knowledge, deep down inside, that things will get better. It’s taking the next step when you can’t see the entire staircase. Simply put, life would fail to have a reason if we didn’t have faith.
Faith, then, is just as important as the air we breathe. While the oxygen in the air nourishes the body, faith nourishes the heart and the soul. It’s the energy that courses through every single fiber and cell within our beings. It’s part of every muscle and every strand of thought. It is the fundamental foundation of our existence.
Why have faith?
- 1. Faith helps you to discover your purpose in life
- 2. Is the pathway to finding solutions?
Growing up I used to call the players like Theory Henry, Frank Lampard, and Pele football game changers but I never thought of changing my life/.i believe that I wasted time doing nothing but I decided that it is my life so I am responsible of living it and changing it for the better. You might say that I am not a footballer or a football fan so I do not get you .look at any industry there are game changers that made a difference.
In music there is the Jackson family, Mariah Carey, in cricket, there is Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Pointing, in medicine there is Dr. Ben Carson and Tiger Woods (golf), Michael Jordan (Basketball), Michael Jackson (Music), and many others.
It is never too late to change your life and start having a better life. My game changers might not sit right with you or hit you in your gut but think about it, develop your own game changers and make it your measuring stick. Imagine if you had learned about these game changers from a young age or when your parents, family, church, school system or community had taught you and encouraged to about these where will you be and what would you have done?
Parents, elders, and teachers you are responsible of rising up young woman and man, teach them things that they can always apply and that will bring results in their lives not to teach them to be slaves to someone else.
Young people, you have the responsibility to look after yourself and see that you have a better future a better life than your parents and brothers. Develop your game changer things that will help you grown and keep you in line towards your achieving dream. Once you develop them, these will be your measuring stick in all you do.
If it is up to you then DO IT!!!
